Before using a Dzi, How to perform a purification of our DZI?

These gems have their own powers to communicate with you … they call you! It sounds strange, but it just happens naturally, although it may sound illogical.

The Dzis, preferably, are used in contact with the body, this is because the “Qi” (vital flow of energy) of your body will activate and “activate” the energy of the Dzi. Wear a collar with Dzi upright or in a bracelet by touching your wrist, you can place larger beads near you at your work desk or at home for positive energy. The Dzi energy will never stop (unless it breaks) if you take good care of yourself.

When we acquire or give us a Dzi or other stone amulet, it is advisable to clean it, purify it if we want to use it and above all, in the case of the Dzi that have surely been transmitted from one hand to another, since you do not know the energies with the ones you were in contact with before coming to you … you must purify it before using it.

The purification is similar to that done with natural stone crystals. In a small container with water add a little salt and leave your Dzi in the container, no more than 24 hours, if you fear that the salt can ruin your necklace, bracelet, you can let the water fall from the shower or from the tap on the for a minute or two.

Tibetan DZI. Introduction and meaning regarding the number of Eyes.

The DZI comes from the Central Asia region, and are generally found in an area that spans Afghanistan, Iran, Tibet, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Burma and Thailand.
They come in many sizes and shapes, from tiny carnelian engravings to large dzi with multiple eyes and stripes.

The meaning of the Tibetan word “Dzi” translates to “brilliance, clarity, splendor”. Grains originate in the Tibetan cultural sphere and can be very expensive and difficult to obtain. They are found mainly in Tibet, but also in neighboring Bhutan, Ladakh and Sikkim. Shepherds and peasants gather them in the meadows or in the fields of cultivation. Because the Dzi are found on earth, Tibetans can not conceive of them as man-made. Since knowledge of origin is derived from oral traditions, few accounts have provoked more controversy as to its source, method of manufacture and even precise definition. All of this contributes to making them the most sought after and collectible beads on earth.

Some Dzi protect their wearer from negative energies or accidents, some attract wealth or wisdom, while others can bring you love and happiness.

One thing to remember about these curious little stones is this, a Dzi stone can repel things, but you can also store them. When a negative energy comes to you, your stone can block or absorb it. They can also give you very positive energies. In other words, a little of them enter you and some of you will enter them.

There seems to be inaccuracies about the dating of the original “pure” Dzi, the most common error is to claim that it is in the 8th century. This error comes from a date found in the grain collector bible “The History of Grains” by Lois Sherr Dubin, where Dzi is placed on the “map of time” in AD 700 along with the introduction of Buddhism in the Tibet. However, if the reference numbers are checked against the accounts, the detail indicates that the actual dates are unknown. This is because Tibetans have never allowed archaeological excavations in Tibet, so accurate field dates can not be established. The assumption was that the Dzi is connected with Tibetan Buddhism, then the pearls are tied around the same date that Buddhism began.

In fact, it is widely understood by Tibetans that the Dzi were part of the Bonpo tradition that preceded Buddhism in Tibet and dates back 4,000 years or more, and some of the older Dzi as Phum Dzi are believed to have arrived from this moment. It is said that the chiefs used to wear them in their ceremonial robes and when they died they were cremated in their ceremonial dresses and the buried remains. This conjecture mainly can not be proved, but would explain why Dzi balls are often found on the ground and why so many are stained, burned or broken, since the heat of the pyre would have been very likely to damage the beads .

This is not to be confused with chips in beads, which could be accidental as agate is a hard stone, but fragile, but it can also be deliberately. A Tibetan from Lhasa revealed that the beads were deliberately splintered as medicinal or religious offerings, or to include as part of a burial offering over the previous owner’s death, which may not be as well known. Therefore, beads with small chips in them generally do not affect the value of the beads, and may even be considered desirable, especially if they were for medicinal purposes, since it would be considered to have an intrinsic power to be chosen for such purposes .

There is another desirable feature found in Dzi beads known as blood stains or cinnabar stains, probably caused by particles of oxidizing iron inside the stone, also known as Martik by Tibetans, for whom these stains are of great importance.

How were the DZI created?

The great mystery of the old Dzi and the engraved carnelians and how they managed to get the marks on the surface without breaking or cracking the stone. The family of silica, which includes chalcedony, agate and carnelian, is particularly susceptible to heat, which will break or even break the stone. The technique of how to heat it without damaging it was only discovered in recent times, using a sophisticated technology that involves heating the stone in a vacuum. As the agate is porous, there is air and moisture inside the stone that when heated, expands and causes it to crack. In a vacuum, the air has been removed, thereby greatly reducing the chance of cracking of the stone when heated.
